Paul Sutherland – President
Paul started his political career in 1985, being elected as a North York City Councillor following in his parents’ footsteps (Betty and Bill Sutherland were both Councillors in North York). Paul was re-elected in 1988 and served as Deputy Mayor to North York Mayor Mel Lastman. When the Ontario Government approved the amalgamation of the City of Toronto, Provincial Cabinet appointed Paul as one of six members of the Transition Team to implement the amalgamation of the six former municipalities (and Metro) that now make up the City of Toronto.
After the Transition Team completed amalgamation, Paul was re-elected as a City Councillor in 2000.
Paul now utilizes his vast experience in municipal government and private business to provide strategic consulting and lobbying to clients.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trent University.
Mary Di Mambro - Senior Associate
Mary is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. She also plays an active role in administration and government relations.
Mary began her political career in 1995 in the City of North York. Her talents were recognized in 1997 when she was asked to support the Transition Team for the amalgamation of the City of Toronto.
After the amalgamation of Toronto was complete, Mary continued her political career with the Greater Toronto Services Board as a senior administrator to Chair Alan Tonks. During this tenure, Mary managed all aspects of administration, including Human Resources, the Board's budget.
Mary has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
Dan Bordonali – Senior Associate
As a Senior Associate, Dan utilizes his experience and knowledge in municipal politics to provide municipal government relations and strategic planning for clients across the Greater Toronto Area.
Before joining Sutherland and Associates, Dan was an Executive Assistant to two high profile Toronto Councillors at City Hall.
With over 5 years of experience at the City of Toronto, Dan has successfully managed several municipal portfolios ranging from residential development applications to Transportation initiatives, and has maintained a strong working relationship with municipal politicians and Senior City Managers.
In addition to the City of Toronto, Dan has successfully worked on municipal files throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Dan has also been involved in several successful election campaigns for all three levels of government.
Dan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from York University, and is a certified negotiator through the University of Windsor, Faculty
of Law.Dan is a regular contributor to the Toronto Star for the 2010 municipal election. Read
